Event Details
The 2017 Materials Research & Data Science (MRaDS) Conference will be held Sept. 25-27 at the Institute for Bioscience & Biotechnology Research, University of Maryland, Rockville.
The conference is sponsored by the National Institute for Standards & Technology (NIST); the Center of Excellence for Hierarchical Materials Design (CHiMaD), composed of Northwestern University, the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory; and Georgia Tech’s Institute for Materials and IDEAS: MD3.
This conference aims to convene the emergent cross-disciplinary community in Materials ta Sciences ad Informatics with the materials science and engineering community. The conference will offer a platform to exchange ideas, experiences and best practices related to the creation and implementation of the data life cycle infrastructure and interoperability required to support the diverse community engaged in materials design, development and deployment efforts.
The three-day meeting will bring together the experimental and modelling experts from domain sciences (including materials, mechanics, design, manufacturing) and the computer and information sciences experts (including data analytics, informatics, high performance computing) in an effort to seed new collaborations and coalesce a highly connected network of researchers supporting accelerated materials innovation and deployment for the 21st century.
Preliminary plans include both plenary and break-out sessions over three days, as well as a poster session and plug-fest during a welcome reception the evening of September 25. More detailed information will be released soon.
