Post-doc Discussion Group

Welcome to IBBR’s Postdoc Group! This group has been created as a resource for postdocs to easily communicate with each other. There are two ways to communicate within the group:

Send emails to postdoc@group.ibbr.umd.edu. This will function like a distribution email group- group members will receive these emails. These messages will also be added as a post to the discussion group page (see #2).

Create a discussion in the Group page on the IBBR Dashboard. The discussion page functions like a forum where you can post and respond to discussions. Group members will be notified via email when posts are created. IBBR Admin are members of the group as well.
To create a new discussion:

Log into the IBBR dashboard

Under User Content, click on My Groups

Click on Post-doc Discussions

On the right hand side of the page under Content create links, click on Discussion

The Create Discussion window will open. Add a Title (the subject of the discussion) and your message in the Body field. Click Submit to create a new discussion.

A new discussion will be posted in the group, all members of the group will be notified via email of the new discussion topic.

Group members can add comments to the discussion in the Group page or reply to the emails. If you reply to a discussion email, your response will be posted in the group discussion, much like a new comment.
