Brian Pierce Appointed Director of the UMD Biological Sciences (BISI) Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Genomics (CBBG) Graduate Program

We are delighted to congratulate Dr. Brian Pierce, IBBR Fellow and Associate Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics at University of Maryland, College Park, on his appointment as Director of the UMD Biological Sciences (BISI) Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Genomics (CBBG) graduate program, effective July 1.

This graduate program fosters interdisciplinary training for graduate students to address a broad range of biological topics, including functional genomics, molecular evolution, protein structure and systems biology. Dr. Pierce brings a wealth of expertise and a deep dedication to graduate education. His leadership is poised to enhance the program’s training, expand opportunities, and amplify its overall impact.
