On Saturday, April 27th, IBBR visited College Park for Maryland Day! The rain did not deter the thousands of visitors for a fun-filled day of learning (and lots of giveaways). Our booth, located in the Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building in the Science and Tech Way “Learning Neighborhood” featured 3 unique activities. Visitors participated in an agar experiment where they swiped their fingers in a petri dish to learn the importance of washing their hands and bacteria. They also learned about different proteins with our protein matching game and got an inside look at a Coronavirus spike protein using our virtual reality rig. Visitors of all ages enjoyed the activities and got to take home some IBBR swag including notebooks, pens, coffee mugs, mini tape measures and SPF lip balm. Thanks to our tremendous volunteers, faculty, researchers and staff, IBBR’s presence at Maryland Day 2024 was a huge success! For more highlights on Maryland Day click here.
